By completing your purchase with us, you agree with our policies and terms. It is YOUR responsibility to read our policies in full BEFORE completing your purchase. If you have questions about our policies, please contact us BEFORE placing any orders. If you do not agree with any of our policies, please purchase elsewhere. Our policies are firm no matter the circumstance.
At Simply Feathered Acres, we strive to provide quality chickens and hatching eggs. As a running farm business, we have strict bio-security protocols in place to prevent against the transference of outside flocks to our own. THEREFORE, WE CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON ANY POULTRY OR EGG PURCHASE. Nothing can return to our property once it has left.
Day-old Chicks
There is a 6 chick MINIMUM required in order to ship day-old chicks. There are NO cancellations, changes or refunds on chicks. Payment is accepted at the time of the sale. Orders are shipped out as available or when discussed. Because we are dealing with animals and nature, the orders will be fulfilled in the order they were placed. We only sell day-old chicks, if any grow outs or adults are available for sale, the prices increases $2 per week if age. Older birds will be posted on our Facebook page and are first come first serve.
We strive to deliver healthy and live chicks but sometimes there are factors out of our control. We only offer refunds on chicks that do not make it in the first 24 hours or are deceased upon pickup. You must pickup your chicks from the Post Office within 2 hours of notice of arrival. If your chicks arrive deceased, please contact us immediately with pictures and we will refund the cost of the chicks. We do try to include extras and if extras are included, and there are deceased birds, a refund will not be given on extras. To keep your chicks healthy, do not mix them with other chicks from different orders or different ages for the first 48 hours. We are not responsible for refunds if they’ve been exposed to other chicks/chickens. If you do not wish to receive a refund and would like more chicks shipped to you as replacements, you are responsible for the additional shipping cost and we will ship replacements as soon as possible.
Hatching Eggs
There are NO cancellations, changes or refunds on hatching eggs. Payment is accepted at the time of the sale. Orders are shipped out as available or when discussed. Because we are dealing with animals and nature, the orders will be fulfilled in the order they were placed.
We ship out hatching egg orders using FedEx, UPS, or USPS. We have a flat rate shipping cost which covers the shipping charge and packaging material used to safely ship eggs to you. One thing to take into consideration is location. We are located in Southeastern Michigan. Most of our hatching egg orders going to the East Coast are delivered in 1-2 days. Any hatching egg orders being shipped to states west of Missouri can take 3-5 days.
There is NO GUARANTEE ON HATCH RATES. There is a saying to not count your chicks before they hatch. We send the freshest, fertile eggs to you, however, once the eggs leave our farm, we have no control over what happens. Hatch rates depend on your incubation techniques, environment, and housing as well. On the farm, our hatch rate is usually nearly 100%.
We provide our customers with quality hatching egg embryos. We package our hatching eggs in the most secure way possible for their journey to ensure that they make it to you undamaged. Please understand that once the package leaves our possession, we have done everything possible to ensure that the hatching eggs reach you safely and that by labeling the box the way we do, we have done everything possible to prevent the transport process from adversely affecting the viability of the hatching eggs being shipped to you.
Payment for a hatching egg order will be accepted at the time the order is placed. Please select the correct shipping option at checkout. If the wrong one is selected, we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance. Shipping must be paid in full to complete your order.
It is YOUR responsibility to check the condition of the box and to open it and check on the status of the hatching eggs contained inside. If any of the eggs contained inside were damaged during transport, whether the box is damaged or not, you should report it to USPS as soon as possible. File a claim for your losses with them at that time. We are NOT responsible for broken eggs once they leave our possession and cannot submit the claim for you.
PRE-ORDERS
All orders are shipped on a first-come first-serve basis. If you pre-order eggs or chicks in advance, the orders will be filled in the order they are received. If you pre-order eggs or chicks in the winter months, we generally do NOT start shipping until the weather is warm enough (usually March). When you check out, you agree to the fact that it can take several months before you receive your order of chicks or eggs. We do not guarantee any time frames. We do not have control over how often the hens lay, nor how many eggs they lay. With this in mind, please be flexible. We do our best to get them out as soon as we can.
You will be contacted within a few days of when we are ready to ship your order. If you cannot accept your order, please let us know as soon as possible so we can move to the next person in line and reschedule your shipment.
