By completing a purchase with Simply Feathered Acres, you acknowledge and agree to our policies and terms. It is your responsibility to read all policies in full before completing your order. If you have any questions, please contact us prior to placing an order. If you do not agree with our policies, we respectfully ask that you do not complete a purchase. All policies are firm and apply to every order without exception.
At Simply Feathered Acres, we take pride in providing healthy, quality chickens and hatching eggs. As a working farm, we maintain strict biosecurity measures to protect our flock and prevent exposure to outside poultry. For this reason, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on any poultry or egg purchases. Once an order leaves our property, it may not be brought back under any circumstances.
Day-old Chicks
A minimum of 6 chicks is required for shipping day-old chicks. Full payment is required at the time of purchase. Orders for chicks cannot be canceled, changed, or refunded. Orders are shipped as chicks become available or according to prior arrangements. Because we are working with live animals and nature, orders are fulfilled in the order they are received.
We sell day-old chicks only. If grow-outs or older birds become available, pricing increases by $2 per week of age. These birds will be posted on our Facebook page and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
We strive to provide healthy, live chicks. However, some factors are beyond our control. Refunds are only issued for chicks that arrive deceased or do not survive within the first 24 hours. You must pick up your chicks from the Post Office within 2 hours of notification of arrival. If chicks arrive deceased, please contact us immediately with photos for verification. Refunds will be issued for the lost chicks only. We often include extra chicks when available. If extras are provided, refunds will not be issued for those.
To protect the health of your chicks, do not mix them with chicks of other ages or from other orders for the first 48 hours. We are not responsible for losses if this occurs. If you prefer replacements instead of a refund, you are responsible for the additional shipping cost. Replacements will be shipped as soon as possible.
Hatching Eggs
All hatching egg sales are final. No cancellations, changes, or refunds are permitted once an order has been placed. Payment is due at the time of purchase.
Orders are shipped as availability allows or as previously discussed. Because we are working with live animals and nature, orders are fulfilled in the order they are received.
We ship hatching egg orders via UPS or USPS using a flat-rate fee that covers both shipping and packaging materials.
There is no guarantee on hatch rates. While we send fresh, fertile eggs, many factors are beyond our control—such as shipping conditions, incubation techniques, and environmental factors. On our farm, hatch rates are typically near 100%. However, once the eggs leave our care, hatch rates are solely your responsibility.
We carefully package all hatching eggs to maximize protection during transit and clearly label each shipment. While we do everything possible to ensure safe delivery, we cannot control the handling process once the package leaves our possession.Â
Payment is required at checkout. Please ensure you select the correct shipping option. If the incorrect option is chosen, we will issue an invoice for the remaining balance. Orders cannot be completed until shipping is paid in full.
It is your responsibility to inspect the package and eggs immediately upon arrival. If any eggs are damaged in transit, whether or not the box shows visible damage, you must report it directly to the shipping carrier and file a claim with them. We are not responsible for broken or damaged eggs once they have been shipped and will not file claims on your behalf.

PRE-ORDERS
Orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-orders for eggs or chicks are processed in the order received.
For winter pre-orders, shipping generally does not begin until weather conditions are suitable, typically March. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that fulfillment may take several months. No specific shipping dates are guaranteed. Hatch and lay rates are determined by natural factors outside of our control.
Customers will be contacted a few days prior to shipment. If you are unable to accept your order at that time, you must notify us immediately so we can move to the next customer in line and reschedule your shipment.
