Our Ayam Cemani flock is intentionally very small, and availability is limited. Chicks and hatching eggs are only offered when our hens are laying consistently. Ayam Cemani are known for being low-production layers, typically laying 80–100 eggs per year, and there have been times when months passed without a single Ayam Cemani egg.
Breeding Ayam Cemani is both complex and unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect” birds. While we carefully select our breeding stock for their exceptionally black features, it’s important to understand that not all offspring will mature as fully solid black, even when both parents display strong black traits. Some chicks may show pigment leakage or other cosmetic imperfections.
We believe in transparency and honesty above all else. Our goal is to continually improve our flock while breeding toward the working Standard, but due to the nature of fibromelanism, complete pigment coverage cannot be guaranteed in every hatch. Variability is simply part of working with this unique and fascinating breed.
Ayam Cemani are best suited for those who appreciate rarity, patience, and the natural challenges that come with preserving a truly special chicken.
